Museum Matinee: Hurricane Hazel-Transforming the Grand Strand

October 14, 2020 @ 1:00 pm

The 2020 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with Transforming the Grand Strand: Hurricane Hazel.

Hurricane Hazel slammed into the Grand Strand on October 15, 1954 as a category four hurricane on a full moon high tide and forever changed our area. This film, locally produced by Stages Video, reconstructs the devastating impact of Hurricane Hazel on Myrtle Beach and Horry County through interviews with survivors, archival photographs and film footage.

The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14th at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

The Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2020. For a list of films, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org. For more information, call the Horry County Museum at 843-915-5320 or e-mail hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org.
