All of the branchs of the Horry County Memorial Library have an extensive collection of books on County history and genealogy. Check both the normal and reference sections for the 975 sequence of call numbers, specifically SC 975.787. A few highlights are:

Chapin Library's reference department would be another good contact. After Catherine Lewis retired from the Horry County library she devoted a lot of time helping augment Chapin's geneological & historical sources.
