Bing Chambers to speak on South Carolina Confederate Soldiers

The Horry County Museum and The AVX Foundation present a lecture by Herbert “Bing” Chambers. Mr. Chambers will be speaking on South Carolina Confederate soldiers, the subject of his book And Were the Glory of Their Times, on March 11th.
Drawing from 18 years of research, Mr. Chambers will share stories about some of the soldiers, including men from Horry County, and their families, letters to and from home, and the principles behind why many of them went to war. And Were the Glory of Their Times features the names of more than 1,100 South Carolinians never before listed who died in the war, and includes biographical sketches of 90% of the soldiers.
The program begins at 1 pm in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street, Conway SC. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, and to view a full list of programs this year, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org or call 843.915.5320.
