The Horry County Museum is pleased to announce the opening of the new exhibit From School Bells to Ball Fields: Schools Becoming Part of the Community. This exhibit will open on May, 2 2015 and will be on display until early 2016. The exhibit explores the journey of the one-room school house into something much bigger. It documents educational growth in Horry County and the early 20^th century rise in school sports which brought a sense of pride and identity to local communities.
