Museum Movie Classics to begin with The Bridge on the River Kwai

Full Steam Ahead and Easy 105.9/100.7 present Museum Movie Classics at the Horry County Museum. Beginning in September, historic Hollywood films will be shown free to the public in the museum’s McCown Auditorium. The first film in the series, The Bridge on the River Kwai is an adaptation of Pierre Boulle’s novel by the same name about POWs in Burma forced to build a bridge to aid the war effort of their Japanese captors during World War II. British and American officers plot to blow up the structure, but the British commander of the bridge’s construction has different plans.
The Bridge on the River Kwai will show Friday, September 30th at 3:00 PM. The Horry County Museum is located at 805 Main Street, Conway SC and is open Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. For more information, call 843.915.5320 or email hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org . To view a full list of films and other programs, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org.
