Tobacco Cultivation

Once one of the largest producers of tobacco, the people of Horry County have developed a unique lifestyle around growing this leafy green crop. The cultivation of tobacco has been an important player in the development of Horry County history. Our Showcase exhibit this month will be Tobacco Cultivation in Horry County.

The exhibit will include historic and modern pictures depicting the culture of tobacco in Horry County and the intense lifestyle of the tobacco farmer that has become symbolic of our region.
