SUMMARY:Frank Hubbell: Vanishing Architecture-The Inside Story of the Outhouse
DESCRIPTION:The Horry County Museum and The AVX Foundation present a program by Frank Hubbell on Saturday\, February 16th\, on “the inside story of the outhouse”. \nSince 1992\, Frank Hubbell has travelled throughout Indiana\, Illinois and Iowa\, sharing his collection of outhouse photographs and memorabilia. The program includes a brief reading from Charles “Chic” Sales’ 1929 humor book\, The Specialist\, which provides the fine points of putting up a proper “necessary house.” Hubbell will also share a collection of slides\, inherited from his father\, who in his retirement traveled around the country on two lane roads and photographed any outhouse he could find. The audience will be encouraged to share their outhouse stories and can also view a display of miniatures and other memorabilia provided by Mr. Hubbell. \nThe program will begin at 1 pm in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street\, Conway SC. This event is free and open to the public. For more information\, call 843-915-5320 or email hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org. To view a full list of programs\, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org.
