SUMMARY:How Does the Garden Grow? Organic Gardening at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm
DESCRIPTION:Experience life on the “one horse farm” in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. Join us on October 9th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM for a program on gardening where visitors can learn about growing a garden using heirloom varieties of vegetables and only organic fertilizers. In this presentation\, staff will demonstrate weeding the fresh greens from the garden. \nThe L. W. Paul Living History Farm is open Tuesday-Saturday 9 AM-4 PM and teaches the history of the Horry County farm family. The farm is free and open to the public and is located at the corner of Hwy 701 North and Harris Short Cut Road in Conway\, SC. For more information\, call the L. W. Filmed on site in the Caribbean\, this locally produced film is narrated by local author and historian Rod Gragg and features modern day footage\, artwork\, and historical images to tell the life and story behind the historic voyage that led to the discovery of the ‘new world’. \nThe film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM\, Wednesday\, October 9th\, at the Horry County Museum\, located at 805 Main Street in Conway. \nThe Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2019.
