SUMMARY:Outdoor Children’s Activities at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join us for free 30-minute activities at the Farm August 12th-August 14th! Parents can sign children up for a half-hour session between 9 AM-11 AM. Group sizes will be limited to 5 children per session to help ensure social distancing.  On Wednesday\, children will learn how to predict upcoming weather by creating their own barometer. Thursday they’ll write and draw using a feather quill and homemade ink\, and Friday\, they will learn about beneficial insects and create seed bombs that will help attract local pollinators. \nFor information about available times and to register\, contact Marian Calder at 843-915-7861 or email calder.marian@horrycounty.org.

DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with The Battle of Camden\, part of the Carolina Stories Series by SCETV. In this film\, Revolutionary War re-enactors help tell the story of this crucial event in American history\, one of the worst American battle defeats in the Revolution. From new guerilla tactics employed by American militia to the actions of an over-confident king\, the tragic events that transpired on August 16\, 1780 became the catalyst that led to the birth of a nation. \nThe film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM\, Wednesday\, August 12th\, at the Horry County Museum\, located at 805 Main Street in Conway. \nThe Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2020.
