SUMMARY:Junior Farmers at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join us for free 30 minute Saturday activities at the Farm! Parents can sign children up for a half-hour session between 9 AM-11 AM. Group sizes will be limited to 5 children per session to help ensure social distancing. On October 10th children will learn the role honey bees play in food production and have to chance to sample different types of honey! \nFor information about available times and to register\, contact Marian Calder at 843-915-7861 or email calder.marian@horrycounty.org. The L.W. Paul Living History Farm is open Tuesday through Saturday\, 9 AM-4 PM\, and is located at 2279 Harris Short Cut Road\, Conway\, SC 29526.

SUMMARY:The Spanish Flu of 1918 in Horry County
DESCRIPTION:Join us on October 10th as Horry County Museum Curator Hillary Winburn discusses the impact of the Spanish Flu of 1918 on Horry County. \nHillary Winburn graduated from The College of Charleston in 2005. Before becoming Curator for the Horry County Museum and the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. Ms. Winburn volunteered with The Friends of the Hunley and worked with the Historic Charleston Foundation and the Horry County Library. In 2018\, she graduated from the Jekyll Island Museum Management Institute. She is a member of the South Carolina Federation of Museums and the Southeastern Museum Conference. \nThe program will begin at 1 pm in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street\, Conway SC.
