Transforming the Grand Strand: Hurricane Hazel

October 12, 2022 @ 1:00 pm

Hurricane Hazel slammed into the Grand Strand on October 15, 1954 as a category four hurricane on a full moon high tide and forever changed our area. This film, locally produced by Stages Video, reconstructs the impact of Hurricane Hazel on Myrtle Beach and Horry County through interviews with survivors, archival photographs and film footage.

The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

The Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2022. For a full list of films, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org. For more information, call the Horry County Museum at 843-915-5320 or e-mail hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org.
