The 2026 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with South Carolina Ghosts & Legends Vol. I., part of the Carolina Stories Series produced by SCETV.
This 30 minute film tracks the legends and lore from South Carolina’s past in a haunting journey from the Old Exchange Dungeon in Charleston to the Abbeville Opera House in the Upstate. Search for the Lands End Ghost that walks the Carolina coast and maybe the most famous of all, the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp.
The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

Free Children’s Program at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm
Join us for free 30 minute Saturday activities at the Farm! Parents can sign children up for a half hour session between 9 AM-11 AM. Group sizes will be limited. On October 17th children will learn about important fall and winter crops on the farm. They’ll also make an upcycled seed starter to take home.

The Horry County Museum presents a free traditional bluegrass concert by Sawgrass on Saturday, October 17th, at 1:00 PM.
Since forming in 1998, Sawgrass has become a longtime fixture in the bluegrass community, known for its distinctive sound, energy, and deep connection to the local music scene.
The current lineup includes founding member Jody Harrison on guitar and vocals, along with Rich Viso on banjo and vocals, affectionately known as “Dr. Banjo,” who has been with the band for nearly 20 years, and multi-talented bassist and sound engineer Corey Merchant. In 2024, the band welcomed Corey Anderson on vocals, whose exceptional voice brings a dynamic new dimension to the group.
Sawgrass frequently features Grammy-nominated musician Jenni Lyn Gardner on mandolin and vocals. With more than two decades of professional experience and an international touring career, Gardner brings a wealth of musicianship and performance experience to the group. Her background in roots music, touring, and music diplomacy adds another layer to Sawgrass’s sound and live performances.
The group puts its own unique spin on a diverse repertoire, including jamgrass favorites, Grateful Dead music, traditional bluegrass standards, and original songs. Their monthly residency at Chanti’s Pizza, a beloved local venue in downtown Conway, reflects their longstanding connection to the community. With a sound that bridges bluegrass, roots, and improvisational music, Sawgrass continues to bring its own character and energy to the local music scene.

Step into a magical evening of music and imagination with The Witching Hour, a family friendly candlelight concert featuring the Long Bay Symphony woodwind quintet performing enchanting seasonal favorites in a candlelit setting. Filled with playful Halloween charm, whimsical melodies, and autumn atmosphere, this concert is perfect for audiences of all ages looking to celebrate the season.
Two performances will be held on Wednesday, October 21st, the first at 1 PM and an evening concert at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public, no reservations or tickets required.

Participants will ‘dig’ through a box of discarded objects to classify and sort the items to determine what event may have taken place.

The Horry County Museum presents a free concert by Vocal Edition on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at 1 PM. The group will perform A Harvest of Music from the Sixties and Seventies. From Broadway to Beach, Pop, and Motown, join us as we celebrate the music made popular from various genres during the 1960s and 70s.
Vocal Edition is an auditioned, professional choral ensemble dedicated to providing quality choral entertainment for any type of event...large or small. They specialize in harmony, featuring some of the Grand Strand’s most outstanding professional singers.
Since its beginnings in1993, Vocal Edition has performed in many concerts at a variety of venues, large and small, in the Grand Strand area, North Carolina, and elsewhere, including appearances with the Long Bay Symphony, Gatlin Brothers Theatre with the Gatlin Brothers, Solstice Assembly of North Carolina, Trinity Performing Arts Series, Brookgreen Gardens’ Nights of 1,000 Candles and Summer Light: Art by Night, Market Common, North Myrtle Beach Community Band’s Pops in the Park, Showstoppers, Conway PorchFest, and more, performing an eclectic mix of popular music for audiences of all ages.

This 30 minute film takes a spine-tingling look at the Palmetto State’s ghosts, legends, and other chilling mysteries. From the scenic Upstate to the moss-canopied streets of the Coast, ETV goes on hair-raising jaunts through cemeteries, a college bell tower, a haunted railroad, and other fascinating sites, uncovering the stories that have captivated listeners for decades.
