Join us on April 24th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM for a program on gardening where visitors can learn about growing a garden using heirloom varieties of vegetables and only organic fertilizers. At this program, visitors will learn about weeding and looking for insect damage.

The 2019 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with a locally produced film by Nelson and Sam Thomas about the history of Aynor, South Carolina. Told through interviews and photographs, this 70 minute film tells the story of the town’s incorporation and history.
The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

Junior Curators continues at the Horry County Museum on Saturday, April 27th from 9 AM-10 AM. This free, family friendly, program is open to children ages 5 and older and will teach children the history and natural history of Horry County through hands on activities. In this session, children will learn how people in the past communicated by writing with feather quills and ink made from berries. Parents must remain with children. Farm Animal Day at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm

Experience life on the “one horse farm” in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. Join us on April 27th from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM to learn about the different animals on the farm and their various roles.
The public is invited to help feed the animals from 9:00-9:30. Visitors can select an ear of corn, shell it, and use it to feed the chickens. This month farm staff will demonstrate trimming a mule’s mane and tail to help the animal stay clean and cool when the weather starts getting hot.
The L. W. Paul Living History Farm is open Tuesday-Saturday 9 AM-4 PM and teaches the history of the Horry County farm family. The farm is free and open to the public and is located at the corner of Hwy 701 North and Harris Short Cut Road in Conway, SC. For more information, call the L. W. Wash Day

Experience life on the one horse family farm in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. Join us for Wash Day on Tuesday, April 30th from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM to see how clothes would have been washed using a scrub board and wash pot. From 11 AM-1 PM staff will demonstrate how clothes would be dried on rainy days.

A free, hour long, guided tour of the farm will be available to the public starting at 3:00 PM.
