• Free Children’s Program at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm

    Join us for free 30 minute Saturday activities at the Farm! Parents can sign children up for a half hour session between 9 AM-11 AM. Group sizes will be limited. On December 6th children can choose from a variety of options to create a toy or holiday themed craft to make and take home!

  • Ukes By the Sea to perform Christmas Music at the Horry County Museum

    The Horry County Museum presents a free Christmas concert by the local group Ukes By the Sea on Saturday, December 6th, at 1:00 PM. Ukes By The Sea is a light-hearted ukulele band based in Myrtle Beach, SC. Members of the band range in age from 11 to 93. Their mission is to share joy through happy music.     The 2025 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with Myrtle Beach Memories. This ETV film is a nostalgic look at the history of Myrtle Beach from 1900-1965. Told through interviews with local historians and business people, this film features topics ranging from the Ocean Forest Hotel, Hurricane Hazel, the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, and the Sun Fun Festival to motor inns, guest houses and beach music.
    The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 10th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

  • Chasing the Swamp Fox

    The 2025 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with Chasing the Swamp Fox. This film, part of the Carolina Stories Series by SCETV, details Francis Marion’s partisan campaigns during the American Revolution in South Carolina and paints a mosaic of what life was like in those years and how Marion’s participation led to the birth of modern day guerilla warfare as well as the liberation of our country.
    The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 17th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

  • Christmas at the Farm

    Experience life on the family farm in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm! Join us on December 20th from 9 AM until 12 PM to see how the farm family would have prepared for the Christmas season. Visit the farmhouse to see seasonal activities including cooking on the wood burning stove and decorating the Christmas tree. We’ll also have activities for children, Christmas music in the Church, and a variety of demonstrations throughout the Farm!
    The L.W. Paul Living History Farm is open Tuesday-Saturday 9 AM-4 PM and teaches the history of the Horry County farm family from 1900-1955.     The 2025 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series concludes with an installment of the South Carolina Hall of Fame Film Series produced by SCETV. This film will feature inductees from the Early 20th Century.
    Established in 1973, The South Carolina Hall of Fame, located in Myrtle Beach, inducts one deceased and one contemporary honoree each year. It is by law the “official” Hall of Fame for South Carolina. There are nearly 100 members of the South Carolina Hall of Fame, each of whom has made outstanding contributions to South Carolina’s heritage, history, and progress.
    Biographies of Early 20th Century inductees include Wil Lou Gray, Archibald Rutledge, Elizabeth O’Neill Verner, Mary Simms Oliphant, Ann Austin Young, Benjamin Mays, Elliott White Springs, Septima Clark, and Maude Callen.
    The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 31st, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.
